The one thing Genesis has been missing in its product line up is a Sport Utility Vehicle, which is the product American consumers are buying and driving.
We expect the brand to revolutionize the market place when it comes to the SUV, and it very well may do that with this rear-wheel-drive platform one. Or it can bring an upmarket version of the Kia Telluride | Hyundai Palisade. Though we feel it is really hard to improve upon the Kia original.
One thing we do know is that the brand will provide its own refined elegant signature to the design of the first Genesis SUV. And this Genesis will be technology-focused and well priced, just like they have done with the rest of their lineup.

To kick off 2020 Genesis shared official images of its much anticipated sport-utility vehicle, the GV80. Available with three-row of seating, and all-wheel-drive, which is what consumers are asking for today.
We know it will be based on a rear-wheel-drive platform unique to the Genesis brand and that this is a collaboration between Genesis Design studios in the United States, Germany, and South Korea. So it will truly be an international vehicle for the 2020s.

Genesis GV80 will feature signature design elements that are immediately visible from every vantage point. The high-tech quad headlamps and the Crest Grille. The G-Matrix pattern that appears in light fixtures is seen throughout the GV80s exterior. “The Quad Lamp, our design signature, introduces an unmistakable visual impression completely unique to Genesis.” is a direct quote from Sang Yup Lee, Senior Vice President, Head of Genesis Design.

The interior focuses on beauty and open space, a characteristic of South Korean architectural aesthetic. Details are minimal and the driving position is commanding as seen by high mounted control surfaces.
A concept of the GV80 was introduced when we attended the 2017 New York auto show. This Genesis model is set to launch globally this year. For those who want to see one now, the GV80 will be on sale in South Korea later on in January.
We expect to see the GV80 presented at upcoming auto shows here in the USA and will look forward to sharing what we find out with you our followers. Stay Tuned!
